Former Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice was on the show today, talking about her newly-published book,
Extraordinary Ordinary People: A Memoir Of My Family.
Listen as Rice tells Dennis about her upbringing in Birmingham, AL, as the daughter of a schoolteacher and guidance counselor who were convinced that their daughter could grow up to be anything she wanted to be. She discussed living in a completely segregated environment as a kid and how, in her middle-class black community, her parents made a point of it to offer her the world.
