Baseball lost one of its greatest with last week's passing of the legendary MLB manager
Sparky Anderson.
Anderson managed the National League's Cincinnati Reds to the 1975 and 1976 championships, then adding a third title in 1984 with the Detroit Tigers of the American League. He was the first manager to win the World Series in both leagues.
Known for his command over the English language, Sparky was often quoted but never duplicated. See an homage to his many great quips, curated by the
MLB.
